Established in 1809 Galena is a small village located in Delaware County. Galena was founded by the first Methodist clergyman in Delaware County Gilbert Carpenter. Using an odd technique, the village name was chosen by pulling the name out of a hat. Originally established as a mill seat located between two streams, Galena remains a quiet village today.
