Before Marysville was considered a part of Ohio, it was first part of the Northwest Territory then the Virginia Military District. Founded in 1816 by Samuel W. Cuthbertson, it was given its name to honor his daughter, Mary. Presently, Marysville is home to Scott’s Miracle-Gro Company headquarters as well as the Marysville Auto Plant which is one of the leading producers of Hondas in the world.
