2011 federal tax credit
Act quickly to get a tax break on Lennox® systems!
In December 2009, President Obama signed into law the Middle Class Tax Relief Act of 2010. The bill extends provisions included in the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act which allowed for Federal tax credits on HVAC equipment of up to $1,500, but makes significant changes to the tax credits available. In 2011, homeowners will be eligible for Federal tax credits on qualified energy efficiency improvements to HVAC equipment as follows:
- Air Conditioning ($300) – 16 SEER and 13 EER minimum efficiency
- Heat Pumps ($300) – 15 SEER and 12.5 EER and 8.5 HSPF minimum efficiency
- Advanced main air circulating fan (Variable speed or CT) ($50) – 2% or less of furnace total energy
- Furnaces ($150) – 95% minimum efficiency
