Located just to the west of The Ohio State University’s main campus, Upper Arlington is home to many Buckeye ties. Former OSU football coaches Jim Tressel and Woody Hayes are former residents of Upper Arlington, as well as professional football player Chris Spielman. Another Upper Arlington native, Beverly D’Angelo, best known for her role as Ellen Griswald in “Christmas Vacation” is the granddaughter of Howard Dwight Smith, the architect that designed Ohio Stadium (or “The Shoe”).
