Dying heat pump- 2nd opinion

Had another company review heat pump issues and was diagnosed with a compressor failure. Replacement was the recommendation. Called CARE for a second opinion. Was scheduled the next day. He came within the window given, evaluated the heat pump and declared a compressor failure. Replacement of the compressor or entire unit recommended. Thorough job and very knowledgeable. No charge for second opinions, greatly appreciated.

Mike Rader came in and diagnosed the problem which was partially created by the previous Care technician. He also installed a new WiFi Ecobee smart thermostat and downloaded the app to my phone. Everything is working fine as he left.

Anthony came to give us our yearly furnace checkup. He asked us if we were having any troubles, we let him know how much we loved it, because it heats our house up better than our previous electric one. He was very friendly from the time he walked in until when he left.

Before I previously called I felt like I identified the problem but didn’t know how to get to the igniter. When the tech came he confirmed that it was most likely the igniter and he was going to order the part and have to come back the next day and install the part. The tech was at my house maybe 25 minutes. Never took the igniter out, didn’t check to see if he had it, and told me the part would probably cost a couple hundred dollars. After he left I uninstalled the igniter and saw that it was cracked. I then found a part at granger for 33 dollars including tax and had it installed by 5 o’clock. He left my house around 330. That hour and a half difference included going to pick up the part and driving back. But I did sign the monthly servicing contract and plan on keeping it for now.

Care always provides excellent service but today Anthony went above and beyond. My house was a busy place but he remained patient with me, quickly diagnosed the problem and fixed it. Also gave me a few suggestions going forward.
