New Albany is mostly located within Franklin County, but a small portion of the city extends into Licking County. New Albany was founded in 1837. Since the early ‘90’s, New Albany has experienced rapid growth. A large reason for this growth is due in part to Les Wexner, Founder and CEO of the Limited Brands, Inc clothing empire. His mansion is located off Kitzmiller Road in the village and is the second largest home in Central Ohio (the Longaberger mansion claims the top spot.) Of additional interest, this area is called home by many celebrities and sports figures. Residents include Bobby Rahal, auto team owner, and his son, Graham Rahal, a former Indy 500 winner, Chase Buchanan, a tennis player, David Wharton, a former Olympic swimmer, David Goodman, a former Ohio Senator and Julia DeVillers, an author of books for girls.
